The Bridal Party

Peter Cheung
Late Father of the Bride
Peter was the best daddy that Sharon could have ever asked for in this life time, dedicating his time and efforts to earning for his family and taking everyone out on what adventures he could afford. When he fell sick, one of the things he said he wished he could do was walk his daughter down the aisle. While that unfortunately could not be, he is with us in spirit. In honor of her dad, Sharon will be walking down the aisle to "Amazing Grace", a song that she sung to him at his bedside. The song soothed him when he was in pain, and he was receptive to the Gospel message at the very end. It is with God's amazing grace that there is hope to meet each other again in the after life.

Pastor Dae Young Kim
Bridal Escort
Sharon has always been a Daddy's Girl, and while she is saddened that her dad could not walk her down the aisle today, she is uplifted by God's graciousness in putting fatherly figures in her life. During some of her hardest times in UC Riverside, Pastor Dae Young Kim and his family took her in and showed her what it meant to be a part of the family of Christ. They invited her in for holidays, and his daughter even trusted her to stay at her apartment alone when she had nowhere else to go! It is so evident how Pastor Dae Young Kim has led his family to reflect the love of God - our Father who loves us.

Mischa Yuan
Maid of Honor
Mischa and Sharon met in a dramatic colliding of the stars - call it fate or destiny - but they have been best friends since. Having recently come from China at the time, Mischa didn't know much English, and Sharon hadn't gone to enough Chinese school to understand Mandarin. Somehow, as both girls were hurt from running into each other after recess, their mothers were able to communicate. From there, a friendship was somehow born - we still don't know how it happened. It's been over 2 decades, and Sharon knows that there is no other person who will ever come close to being as much a sister from another mother (and father), partner in crime, and best friend as Mischa.

Alice Tuan
Bridesmaid
When Alice and Sharon first met, they bonded over little school projects here and there, but their friendship never really went deeper. Their lives continued to intertwine in high school, and even sparsely in college when they both attended UCR. Years later, they found themselves in the same church, serving in the same ministries! Through working together and keeping one another accountable - as iron sharpens iron - Alice and Sharon developed a much deeper friendship than they would have thought all those years ago. God is definitely strange in how he works - leading Alice and Sharon both down a path of faith in somewhat parallel roads, not quite crossing until they met again at FCBC Walnut.

Jinyung Moone
Bridesmaid
Jinyung is one of Sharon's sassiest friends who is literally the epitome of "looks like she could kill you, is a cupcake" (though she would kill for her friends, but just in a figure-of-speech way, for legal reasons). They met at KCCC and their friendship has just grown since then. Jinyung is truly one of a kind: she is so kind, caring, and generous - she even sent Sharon a care package in New Jersey when she got sick! Jinyung is also one of the most reliable people that Sharon knows. No matter how upset, how sick, or how far she is, Jinyung will always deliver on promises. She is loyal and will always protect her friends. Sharon is so honored to be able to call Jinyung a dear friend.

Tim Hwang
Best Man
Jonathan and Tim became brothers over 20 years ago, and since then have shared countless adventures, challenges, and memories — along with almost daily Overwatch matches. From growing up together to navigating different stages of life, they’ve built a bond grounded in consistency, mutual respect, and showing up for each other. Tim is not only Jonathan’s best man, but the person who has been there through every season of life, offering steady support and friendship.

Philip Kim
Groomsman
Philip is one of Jonathan's closest friends from college, and their friendship has spanned across different life stages and changes. It is rare to find friends that stay close in spite of busy schedules and rarely having the time to meet up. Jonathan treasures this friendship deeply, and is glad to have Philip be his groomsman.

Calvin Shin
Groomsman
Calvin and Jonathan met through Beloved Church, where Calvin headed the Home Group for Los Angeles members. Calvin graciously allowed Sharon to join in on Home Group activities, as well! Calvin was also one of the first people to find out that Jonathan and Sharon were looking to move forward in their relationship.

Konnor Wong
Ring Bearer
Konnor was just a wee little kid when Sharon met him, and he has grown into a fine young teen, now! It was always said that he will be the ring bearer, and this really is just proof at how hard it is for Sharon to lock down a good man. From shy and rambunctious little Konnor who would tell his mom to sleep after a long day, he has grown up to be a good young man who continues to nag his mom to take care of herself, plays the piano with the facial expression of Jay Chou in "Secret", and swims with the power of Gyarados. Sharon is thankful to the Wong family for having taken her in on so many occasions, and is excited to continue watching Konnor and his little sister grow up!

Farrah Wong
Flower Girl
When Sharon first met this adorable little girl named Farrah, she would gurgle and speak nonsensical things about flowers, animals, and dolls. Watching Farrah grow up was quite the journey, from watching her roll around lazily in dance class to now posting IG reels of her executing beautiful choreographies. Again, this is proof that it has taken Sharon way too long to finally get married, but it has never crossed her mind to have any other flower girl than Farrah. The Wong family holds such a special place in Sharon's heart, and she loves Farrah as her own little sister and/or niece.
